Surgery vs. Exercise

Gastric bypass surgery is only one of the many surgical processes used to treat obesity. This surgery is often done to obese individuals who are suffering from great obesity that can be a threat to their lives or can impair the quality of their life. Although there are many people who are interested in undergoing this surgery due to the misconception that it is a good way of getting rid of fat and staying thin no matter what you eat, there are still concerns as to the effect of this process on an individual. And since this surgery may cause a lot of money, an average working person won’t have enough money to afford this kind of medical process. Thus, many just turn to fitness programs like power 90 fitness program and other exercise instructional videos they can just conveniently insert to their DVD player at home.

Fitness instructional videos are very popular nowadays, especially for women who feel shy in going to the gym to exercise. Some women don’t feel comfortable wearing exercise outfits and just want to wear simple shirts and shorts when trying to exercise, yet they feel uneasy when other people see them sweating so much. Others may also not be comfortable with the thought of being with other people as they go through the fitness course because they tend to be conscious about how fast other people lose weight compared to them. Other women may prefer fitness courses that have a specific time goal to reach the intended result such as the slim in 6 workout, a workout system designed to be effective enough to achieve the desired body form in just six weeks.

Fitness instructional videos may not be suitable for morbid obesity just like a gastric bypass would be, but it can certainly be a way to avoid reaching that level of obesity.
